dA's 9th birthday is coming up on August 7! + Edit

Only three people on dA know this and I wanted to keep it that way, but it might be best to just come out and say it -- in a few weeks I won't have a job anymore because I'm getting laid off along with all the other employees where I work.  Being a GM requires being organized and focused, or at least it does for me.  I need a few days to figure out wth I'm going to do, but if you need me, send me a note, but keep in mind that I might open it but might not reply within 48 hours like I've always promised.  I figured it'd be best to say this so no one will get upset or frustrated if I don't get back to them in a timely manner.  Le sigh.

In celebration of deviantART's 9th birthday, the Gallery Moderators from Artisan Crafts, Anthro, Cartoons & Comics, and Manga & Anime present Design  A Birthday Cake for Fella contest!   This is going to be a really big contest and there'll be some stiff competition because four main galleries are participating.  Unfortunately, there are only about two weeks to get your entry in and that could be a problem for some artisans, I know and I feel your pain, but maybe these prizes might get you motivated to come up with something really fast and to work on it so that you'll be able to enter it in time (deadline is August 8 and entries go to this contest gallery).  

First Prize - 50 Deviant Dollars , 1 year subscription, & 1 package of emoticon stress balls
Second Prize - 25 Deviant Dollars , 6 month subscription
Third Prize - 15 Deviant Dollars , 3 month subscription

Jucali has an exciting idea and everyone on dA can participate.  He wants 7,000 images to make a mosaic as a gift to dA. If you would like to participate, you have until August 3 to read Commnity project: deviantART's birthday present and then:

" note him with links to your deviations. The subject doesn’t matter, as long as they’re still images; images from any gallery are welcome; the more diversity, the better.   We’ll be showcasing the massive amount of creativity that exists in this community. It doesn’t matter if you’re a $Staff member or a deviant who joined today, you’re welcome to get involved." .

You have from now until August 3 to send those images by note, but in order to avoid any post-project copyright issues, you need to copy/paste this text in the note when you link him the image:

The Community Relations department wants to celebrate with you! Drop by the Community Relations chat room  on Friday, August 7th and hang out with us! Speaking of community spirit, if you haven't yet seen 1121113's news article Dear GMs : Thank you , we love you !</u>, I hope you do soon because it is a very touching tribute to all the Gallery Moderators.  I've never seen someone give so much time and dedication to others before.  And, I hope you also watch his youtube video</u>.  I don't know how anyone can watch it without being moved or tearing up.    I love how he showed how his project got started at home and how it ended up at a beautiful beach, and even more how some of his family members got involved as well.  It's so sweet and touching, so please watch the video and fave his news article.  Here are some of his other news articles that I hope you look at and fave, too:
